30-DAY CELPIP STUDY PLAN

A four-week CELPIP study plan that moves from diagnosis to timed proof.

A month is long enough to improve if your practice has a feedback loop. The goal is not to finish the largest question bank. It is to identify the processes that cost you points, repair them on fresh material, then prove the improvement under time pressure.

This roadmap is flexible. Increase or reduce daily study time to fit your schedule, but keep the sequence: diagnose → repair → timed verification → full simulation. Confirm the current official test format before your exam.

Before Day 1: define your target by skill

Write the score or CLB target you actually need for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Do not use one average target. Then choose a realistic daily study window—30, 45 or 60 minutes works better than an ambitious schedule you cannot repeat.

Week 1: diagnose and learn the task map

Goal: understand where the gap really is.

  1. Take one diagnostic or timed baseline across all four skills.
  2. Record the weakest skill and, inside that skill, the weakest task type or scoring dimension.
  3. Learn the published task purposes instead of memorizing answer templates.
  4. Spend most practice time on the two largest weaknesses, while keeping short maintenance work in stronger skills.

A useful 45-minute session might be 25 minutes on the main weakness, 10 minutes reviewing a previous mistake and 10 minutes maintaining another skill.

Week 2: task-level repair

Goal: make one better decision repeatedly on unfamiliar material.

RECEPTIVE SKILLS

Listening + Reading

Track why each wrong answer failed. Was it a changed plan, a missed condition, an inference, a viewpoint, vocabulary in context or weak note-taking?

PRODUCTIVE SKILLS

Writing + Speaking

Choose one scoring dimension at a time. Improve organization, support, vocabulary, readability/listenability or task fulfillment on a fresh prompt.

Repeat the same skill on different topics. If an improvement works only on the prompt you already know, it has not transferred yet.

Week 3: add time pressure

Goal: keep the improved habit when the clock is running.

  1. Use timed single-task practice first.
  2. Move to timed Skill Mocks for the weakest sections.
  3. Review where time was lost—not just where answers were wrong.
  4. Adjust pacing rules. For example, decide when to stop rereading a Reading item or how long to spend planning before Writing.

Listening deserves special attention under realistic playback conditions. Official CELPIP Listening audio is played once, so repeated replay in learning mode should eventually give way to one-playback practice.

Week 4: simulate, review and taper

Goal: collect readiness evidence without exhausting yourself.

  1. Take a full timed mock early in the week.
  2. Spend the next sessions repairing the two biggest recurring problems from that mock.
  3. Take one more timed check after the repair work.
  4. Use the final days for light review, task-format familiarity and sleep—not for cramming hundreds of new questions.

What to track

Track only information that changes your next action: recent timed results, repeated error types, task coverage and whether your weak areas are becoming more consistent. A giant spreadsheet of every question is less useful than a short list of recurring patterns.

  • Current practice level by skill.
  • Most common mistake or weak dimension.
  • Performance under time pressure.
  • Whether the same improvement transfers to a new topic.
  • Full-mock trend rather than one isolated result.

The current official CELPIP-General format contains four components: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Check the official CELPIP Test Format & Scoring page for current timing and task details before test day.
